Recipes: Southern Cornbread Dressing With Chicken
5-6 cups homemade cornbread crumbled (See cornbread recipe link below. Subtract the honey from the recipe)
2 cups herb-seasoned croutons or crackers
chicken rotisserie or baked
1 tbsp oil canola, veggie, avocado, etc.
2 tbsp (saute veggies) +1tbsp butter (baking dish)
3 stalks celery
1 medium onion
4 garlic cloves
1 tbsp thyme
1 tbsp sage
2 tbsp parsley flakes
1 tbsp poultry seasoning
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 can cream of celery
1 can cream of chicken + herb
4-5 cups chicken broth (homemade or store-bought)
3 large eggs

Crumble cornbread, add breadcrumbs and combine.
Add oil and butter to a saucepan.
Saute celery, onions, garlic, sage, and parsley and set aside.
To cornbread mixture add sauteed veggies, chicken, and combine.
Add broth and combine.
Add cream of chicken, celery, or desired preference.
Add beaten eggs and combine.
Place dressing into a greased baking dish, and bake for about an hour or more if necessary.
