Here is a short video about the process to repair a sheared off or snapped off steam arm. If you are attempting to change the steam arm seals, here is a list of do’s and don’ts:

1. Do not force the steam arm fitting - it is made of brass and it will shear off. If it doesn’t want to come out and it isn’t leaking,just leave it

2. If you do snap off the fitting, you will have to drill it out. Don’t try and use an ‘Ezyout’ and try and avoid damaging the hole in any way.

3. Don’t use WD40 or any other penetrating fluids on your machine - they will get absorbed by aluminium and taint your coffee for a long time

My advice would be to give your Atomic to a machine shop to fix….or to Bon Trading if you are lucky enough to live in Australia.
