Audio is from part of the funeral service for Dwight David Eisenhower, General of the United States Army, former Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe, and the 34th President of the United States. The funeral was held on 31 March 1969, at the Washington National Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Washington, District of Columbia.

Among those who attended the funeral were President Richard Milhous Nixon and First Lady Patricia Ryan Nixon; former President Lyndon Baines Johnson; United Nations Secretary General U Thant; President Charles de Gaulle of France, Chancellor Kurt-Georg Kiesinger of West Germany, King Baudouin of Belgium and Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran.

The service was broadcast in color by the National Broadcasting Company and the Columbia Broadcasting System.

As the funeral was held on the day after Palm Sunday, The Men and Boys Choir of the Washington National Cathedral sang, “O'er all the way green palms and blossoms gay,” from The Army and Navy Hymnal (1921) arranged from J. Baptiste Faure; “The Lord’s My Shepherd,” from Psalms and Hymns to the Living God (from the Scottish Psalter [1650] Tune: F Major, Composer: Jessie Seymour Irvine (1871) Harmonizer: David Grant, from Aberdeen (1872); and the song, “Onward Christian Soldiers," written by Sabine Baring-Gould in 1865, with music composed by Arthur Sullivan in 1871.

The audio is mostly set to video clips of the Washington National Cathedral; Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza, Israel; Saint Porphyrius Greek Orthodox Church in Gaza, Israel, and residents of the Gaza Strip being rescued by Palestinian emergency medical services and fleeing to the border with Egypt on the 6th day of aerial bombardment by Israeli Defense Forces in October 2023.
