This is mainly because humanity’s awareness about how formative childhood experiences are, has increased tremendously. Adults are realizing how their current problems are connected to their childhood, and this often makes them want to talk to their parents about it. The parents that have talked to me about these kinds of conversations often feel like they’re walking on eggshells - it feels like no matter how they respond, it’s not the right response.
