James and Thomas were invited down to Death Valley, California by Volkswagen to try the new 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport PROTOTYPE before its official launch, on both road and trail. (Which will be almost exactly like the one going on sale apparently). With only limited seat time and a camouflaged exterior and interior, the boys do what they can to reach a verdict.
