Are you struggling to recover from anxiety and panic? You might be making a VERY common mistake that is hindering your progress. In this video, we'll explore the top mistake people make during their health anxiety recovery journey and what you can do instead.
First off, one mistake is dwelling on the past. While it's important to acknowledge what happened, constantly reliving the event can prevent you from moving forward.
Instead, focus on the present and acknowledge that this is where you are now and you have to work with what you have got now.
Another mistake is trying to rush the recovery process. Recovery takes time, and trying to speed it up can actually slow it down and actually bring it to a complete halt in the long term. Give yourself the time you need and don't compare your progress to others.
It's also common to isolate yourself during recovery, but this can lead to feelings of loneliness and depression. Instead, reach out to friends and loved ones for support.
On the other hand, some people rely too heavily on others for their anxiety relief. While having a support system is important, you also need to take responsibility for your own progress.
Probably the most common mistake is trying to control everything. Recovery often involves uncertainty and it's in our nature to try to mitigate that uncertainty. We strive for it and in the process we tweak our lives to get that sense of security. What can feel like help at first will often lead one down the rabbit hole, actually increasing anxiety and the sense of powerlessness. It is important to learn to accept what you can't control and focus on what you can.

Learn from what others went through – Get inspired – learn that your anxiety symptoms aren’t as unique as you might think and that anxiety, stress and panic can really create the scariest physical symptoms imaginable!
Once you can trust and believe that what you are experiencing mentally and physically is anxiety, that is when you will learn to accept it and lose the fear from it.
Over time it will vanish all together.
By avoiding these common anxiety mistakes and focusing on self-care, self-responsibility, and positive thinking, you can overcome setbacks and thrive in your recovery journey.
