When it comes to anxiety recovery and finally finding relief from anxiety symptoms there are plenty of things that can hold you back from living an anxiety-free life.
BUT one of the most important things I find is that most people who are so eager to finally make the panic attacks stop or to get rid of a specific scary symptom is that they overly concentrate everything they do on their recovery.
What I mean by that is that every little step is solely geared towards anxiety relief – only one thing in mind – stopping symptoms of stress!
Not only will you not be able to stick to positive habits because they do not turn out to deliver instant relief but they actually can become a stressor in itself. We push ourselves to do work on positive habits but do not find any pleasure in them, do not really see the reason why we are doing so…

That is why for me and my anxiety recovery journey it was more of working on my specific goals and dreams rather than trying hard to make the panic attacks go away.
I surrounded myself with motivated and positive people that constantly lifted me up, I worked out to be healthy (and let's be honest here – for the looks 😉 ) and I quit the job I dreaded and worked on my own little business.
Bit by bit I then noticed that all these positive habits had a direct impact on my mental state. I was no longer dealing with anxiety attacks and even the anxiety symptoms seemed to be less bothering.
I could finally see them for what they are. Nothing else than symptoms of stress.
I am almost certain that I could only stick to these habits because I didn’t use them as a tool for anxiety per se but for improving my life in general.

I became confident in my abilities and my body which ultimately lead to full recovery!

So if there is just one message you can get from this video it would be:

Don’t narrow down your focus on fixing your anxiety but seek pleasure, motivation and reach goals in other aspects of your life BESIDES the anxiety disorder you try so hard to overcome.

Keep these in mind and next time you catch yourself in these situations reset your focus on what you have learned. Recovery from anxiety is 100% possible!
