My first "GoPro Youtube" test. I know it's rough and unpolished... so any helpful video tips are welcome, thanks :)
Mon 4-30-12 was a rare day for Seattle windsurfer's. Winds between 20 and 30 blew most of the day and into the night.
* And, it was a day with no rain... AND at a time of year, with lots of daylight.
* And, it was WINDY all over the greater Seattle area (not localized wind).
* It wasn't even freezing air temps. although the water still was.
* Lastly, there was a fair amount of sunshine and blue sky, much of the time.
All that together, makes for a very rare day in Seattle.

Lots of windsurfers got out early in the day, even though it was a Monday :)
I sailed in Lk. Washington from Newcastle Beach Park, between 6 & 7:30. This clip is one continuous shot taken just after 7 pm, while out between the park and Mercer Is. No edits, cuts or splices, I'm trying to learn how to do that. Yes, I turned the helmet cam on, while sailing 1/2 way across the lake. And, if I could figure out editing, I wouldn't leave myself in the closing shot, looking like a dork, peering at the little GoPro light, to see if it was on or off :)
I added stock music from youtube's library. The vid is 40 sec longer than the song is... so I just left the natural original audio, under the music track, but you don't really hear it till the song's over.
Stats and Specs - I'm 200 lbs and sailing an old Bic Electric Rock 102L and using a Bic/UP (Ultra Profile) 5.5 M. slalom/free-ride/bump sail. It's versatile, general, old recreational gear, that I bought new and have kept in good shape.
It was blowing 18 to 26 mph during this clip, mostly about the middle of that range, I guess. Lots of us had some good rides, that day :)
The vid is from a "GoPro Hero HD" mounted on top of my helmet. Shot at the default setting of 30 fps and 960p (1280 x 960) which gives the "tallest" HD view (4:3) cause I'm tall & I like to see as much of the board & sail, as I can.
Update - I just compared the original file/segment on my computer, to what YouTube is showing. And discovered that they DID remove quite a lot from the top and bottom of the video. I "just knew" that there were more shots of the board & sail in the original. It looks like they left all of the sides, but cropped the top & bottom :(
