Every Land Rover Discovery 1 and Discovery 2 both suffer from the same Achilles-heel when it comes to managing engine temperatures, and that is a lack of an accurate temperature reading from the dashboard water temperature gauge. In this video, we talk about an experience we had a couple of weeks ago and how a simple $80 accessory may not only have saved us from losing an engine, it also helped to trace the cause of an overheating issue to a faulty thermostat we were able to replace for six dollars.
