Narrated 'Aisha: that she prepared a lady for a man from the Ansar as his bride and the Prophet said, O 'Aisha! Haven't you got any amusement (during the marriage ceremony) as the Ansar like amusement?

وہ ایک دلہن کو ایک انصاری مرد کے پاس لے گئیں تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ عائشہ! تمہارے پاس لہو ( دف بجانے والا ) نہیں تھا، انصار کو دف پسند ہے۔

A'isha reported that Abu Bakr came to her and there were with her two girls on Adha days who were singing and beating the tambourine and the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) had wrapped himself with his mantle. Abu Bakr scolded them. The Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) uncovered (his face) and said:
Abu Bakr, leave them alone for these are the days of 'Id. And 'A'isha said: I recapitulate to my mind the fact that once the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) screened me with his mantle and I saw the sports of the Abyssinians, and I was only a girl, and so you can well imagine how a girl of tender age is fond of watching the sport.

عمرو نے کہا کہ ابن شہاب نے انھیں عروہ سے حدیث سنائی اور انھوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت کی ( انھوں نے کہا ) کہ حضرت ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ میرے ہاں تشریف لائے جبکہ منیٰ کے ایام میں میرے پاس دو بچیاں گا رہی تھیں ۔ اور دف بجا رہی تھیں ۔ اور رسول اللہ ﷺ کپڑا اوڑھے لیٹے ہوئے تھے ، ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے ان دونوں کو ڈانٹا ۔ اس پر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اپنے آپ سے کپڑا ہٹایا اور فرمایا :’’ ابوبکر ! انھیں چھوڑیئے کیونکہ یہ عید کے دن ہیں ۔‘‘ اور ( حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے ) کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کو دیکھا کہ آپ مجھے اپنی چادر سے چھپائے ہوئے تھے اور میں حبشیوں کو دیکھ رہی تھی کہ وہ کھیل رہے تھے اور میں کم سن لڑکی تھی ، ذرا اندازہ لگاؤ اس لڑکی کا شوق کس قدر ہو گا جو کھیل کی شوقین ، نو عمر تھی ( وہ کتنی دیر کھیل دیکھے گی ؟ )

It was narrated that Muhammad bin Hatib said:
The Messenger of Allah said: 'What differentiates between the lawful and the unlawful is the Duff, and the voice (singing) for the wedding.'

حضرت محمد بن حاطب رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا :’’ حلال اور حرام نکاح کے درمیان فرق دف بجانے اور اعلان نکاح کرنے کا ہے ۔‘‘

Narrated Ar-Rubai bint Muauwidh: The Prophet came to me after consuming his marriage with me and sat down on my bed as you (the sub-narrator) are sitting now, and small girls were beating the tambourine and singing in lamentation of my father who had been killed on the day of the battle of Badr. Then one of the girls said, There is a Prophet amongst us who knows what will happen tomorrow. The Prophet said (to her), Do not say this, but go on saying what you have spoken before.

جس رات میری شادی ہوئی تھی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس کی صبح کو میرے یہاں تشریف لائے اور میرے بستر پر بیٹھے، جیسے اب تم یہاں میرے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے ہو۔ چند بچیاں دف بجا رہی تھیں اور وہ اشعار پڑھ رہی تھیں جن میں ان کے ان خاندان والوں کا ذکر تھا جو بدر کی لڑائی میں شہید ہو گئے تھے۔ انہیں میں ایک لڑکی نے یہ مصرع بھی پڑھا کہ ہم میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہیں جو کل ہونے والی بات کو جانتے ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ یہ نہ پڑھو، بلکہ جو پہلے پڑھ رہی تھیں وہی پڑھو۔
