The hip joint is a ball-and-socket joint that allows motion and gives stability needed to bear the weight of your torso and all you do with it. The socket area (acetabulum) is inside your pelvis. The ball part of this joint is the top of the thighbone (femur). It joins with the acetabulum to form the hip joint.
You are going to stretch the muscles surrounding the hips such as the gluteus minimus, gluteus medius, psoas or hip flexors, iliopsoas, TFL, piriformis, adductor magnus, pectineus, oblique muscles and even the hip joint capsule.
