Tonight, we celebrate an Ancient Liturgy, starting a cycle of three holy Masses to proclaim the power and truth of Christ’s Incarnation. The Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve is all about awaiting the birth of Jesus Christ, meditating on the unfathomable mystery of God becoming Man, and putting ourselves in a state of receptiveness to the profound joy represented by Christ’s first coming. After this Liturgy, we change the altar and vestments to white and gold, and prepare to announce the glory and purity of the Lord Jesus Christ, fully God and fully Man, in one, undivided Person in Two Natures. Christ is Born! Glorify Him!
