My first view of SEMA this morning was clouds of tire smoke. I had to stop for a moment and check out the drifting, it looks like so much fun. I think they may have been doing some ride-alongs.

The Hoonigan area had a ton of cool cars. I got to see the Konica Minolta ACURA ARX number 10 car as well as the amazing Ferrari 296 GT3. I believe Rotiform is the official wheel provider for these 296 GT3s. I also got to see the Hoonicorn V2 which features big twin turbos poking out of the hood. If I recall correctly this has about fourteen hundred horsepower. Definitely a beast and would be a ton of fun to drive. The Hoonipigasus was just driven by Ken Block's daughter Lia at Pike's Peak and is a pretty sweet ride too.

Of course it was amazing to see our friends from CANchecked, the manufacturer behind the VADPro devices in the North American market. They have a lot of amazing new stuff including a whole line of application specific obd2/canbus based gauges for many popular cars as well as universal applications. I was also very interested in their tools for sending external sensor data to canbus, which could be a great way to investigate issues such as the Cylinder 6 and Cylinder 5 failures seen on the EA839 engine in B9 and B9.5 chassis.

I've also been curious about Vyper Industries, I've seen them all over Instagram. You never know about stuff you see on instagram, too much marketing hype. The chairs do seem well made and it was great to learn more from their staff. However, I'm still not super sold given their weird warranties that seem very limited and component specific. I was expecting something more like a fancy office chair where it's lifetime or many years no questions asked, given the price point.
