Not quite a children's story and not quite an adventure story, this autobiographical classic nonetheless has elements of both. It's the tale of a young boy, Gerry, whose family moves to live on the island of Corfu. Young Gerry loves animals (he will grow up to become the famous naturalist Gerald Durrell) but his various pets are not always popular with his family... though his family are something of a menagerie themselves...
