Rogue Heroes Ruins of Tasos will no doubt be a controversial game. Doing something different isn't always going to be clean cut and creating a roguelite game that surrounds itself in Legend of Zelda (specifically A Link to the Past) design mechanics is no easy task. There are going to be plenty of people that will adore it for its charm and creative design as well as its polished fundamentals. Other people will harp on the cosmetic bugs, broken online multiplayer, and under delivering on some of the games features. The game does have its charm, and it is far from a disaster, but the truth is that it could have used more time both in bug cleanup before launch, but also is design. Many of the features feel like they were tacked on as after thoughts and were not well thought through on how they would impact other elements of the game. In the end the game feels like two games in one, and both of them are decent.

Overall, I think this game won't be for everyone, but personally, I enjoyed it and recommend this toad for anyone that understands its warts. Sure there are things in this game aren't spectacular, but it was fun to play none-the-less, and succeeded in keeping my attention for the many hours I played it.
