This video walks you through the 6 most common causes of high testosterone in women plus how to lower your testosterone levels.

High testosterone is incredibly common among women and can lead to symptoms such as coarse hair growth on the upper lip, male patterned balding or hair loss, weight gain and changes in mood.

The issue with high testosterone is that most providers try to cover up the symptoms with the use of birth control pills or other medications, but these routes never treat the route cause of the issue.

By far the most common cause of high testosterone in women is insulin resistance, which causes both weight gain and alterations in androgens such as testosterone and DHEA.

Other important causes of high testosterone include high DHEA levels, adrenal related issues, leptin resistance, weight gain and a lack of exercise.

Other hormone imbalances such as estrogen dominance or low progesterone can also precipitate high testosterone in women.

Learn more about how to test for high testosterone and what to do about it in this video.
