Ben J Benjamin (LL.B, MBA) isCo-Founder & Partner at Genesis Alternative Ventures.

Ben started his career in law at Baker & McKenzie. Wong & Leow (2002 – 2005) where he practiced M&A, Corporate & Commercial and Intellectual Property law, and then continued practice at listed fashion retailer F J Benjamin, as Legal and Corporate Counsel (2006 – 2007).

Moving to operations at F J Benjamin, Ben spearheaded the growth of its Luxury Division across the Asia Pacific (2008 – 2014) representing several major global luxury brands. Ben was appointed Director, Corporate Strategy (2015 – 2018) to focus on restructuring and diversification efforts, overseeing F J Benjamin’s successful Rights & Warrants Issue (2017) and was also appointed Chairman of the Group’s Omnichannel Advisory Board (2018).

Concurrently, Ben has played an active role in the technology investment space in Southeast Asia and Israel. In 2015, Ben helped establish Sassoon Investment Corporation (SassCorp) the family office of entrepreneur, Victor Sassoon, and continues to advise SassCorp on investments and operations. In 2016, Ben was appointed Non-Executive Director of OurCrowd Singapore, the US$1.2 billion Israel-based online VC investing platform.
