We continue our Ireland Road Trip with days 5 & 6, before leaving Galway for County Sligo.
After leaving the Cliffs of Moher, we head back to Galway for an evening of trad music at two different places, and a visit to the Aran Sweater Market. There we'll learn about Clanarans, and see a sample. Join us as we walk the Spanish Parade to the Spanish Arch, built in the 1500's and watch a beautiful sunset over Galway Bay, complete with swans and gulls.
We'll show you the uilleann pipes, unique to Ireland, and hear one played as we give you a genuine feel for a trad music session in a pub.
In the morning, before departing the City of Tribes, we'll bid farewell to our hosts at Avoca House B & B, then head down to Galway Harbor, where Chris will take a look around. Karen traipses to Thomas Dillon Jewelers for an original Claddagh ring and to visit the museum there to learn the history, legends and tradition of one of the most iconic Irish symbols, the claddagh.
