I love homolagation specials, particularly when it is a rally car. However, with waning interest in the series, the high cost of production and the tiny profit margins, most manufacturers don't really bother with them anymore.


However, Toyota boss Akio Toyoda decided that he wanted to make something fast, fun and affordable as Toyota's entry into the 2021 rally championship. So the GR Yaris was born. Dubbed the "GR-Four" this is a spiritual successor to the old Celica GT-Four, a dominant force in its day.


But, at £30,000 - just how good is it?
