This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. What do Quakers and punk rockers have in common? Tech entrepreneur Geoff DiMasi explores the shared values of two unlikely groups in this talk about using business as a force for good.

“We do good work with good people.” That’s the slogan of P’unk Ave, a website and software development company that supports social impact organizations, founded by Geoff DiMasi, who does his best to embody that ethos too. Geoff is organizer of the Junto Retreat inspired by Ben Franklin’s original club for mutual improvement, co-founder of Indy Hall, an early Philadelphia coworking hub, and the co-founder and curator of Ignite Philly. Like his organizations, Geoff has an infectious and effective optimism, and he’s passionate about bringing people together to be more thoughtful.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
