My friend requested an 8kHz focused sound as a tinnitus masker (TM) or flosser to help with her tinnitus. This is a narrow band of high frequency layered with other close frequencies +./- 10 50 kHz. I usually layer nature sounds (5%) in layers for a fuller rich sound. This one is really narrow focused and has a single 8000Hz source from Audacity. This may work for some if they have a head buzz (like I had) or similar tone around this frequency as it will mask ghost sound created by your DCN. It will lose effectiveness at frequencies farther away from 8000Hz.

I believe listening to a specific unique sound combination and research based tone patterns can reduce tinnitus dB so low that it no longer is apparent. I live next to a forest with a stream where I professionally record then layer a spectrum of of unique sounds. I experimented days and nights and basically "tricked" my brain and found solitude. I try to mediate 5 min a day and sleep peacefully. I try to add grateful thoughts and positive affirmations when possible. You deserve peace and I'm happy I can share this. - Ryan

Listening at low volume is a good idea. This is experimental and your comments will help,if you have hearing issues visiting a audiologist is a good idea. I am an engineer and video producer of ambient noise and sounds who has occasional tinnitus now. There is good work being done in this field and more to do before tinnitus and related hearing afflictions are fully understood.

I blacked the screen so you can sleep and use a high audio stream rate export for optimal pro level audio quality. The Tinnitus (head buzz) I had was around 8400 and this TM was part of my self testing and has been listened to in a restful sleep, to mask, to help study and concentrate, and maybe tinnitus relief for you, or as a background sound to listen to something so basic and minimalist, the mind can focus on other tasks while this is for entertainment.

I use a mobile recording device DBX 286 , RE20 Mic, and a audio synthesizer with Adobe Audition was utilized for a new and improved sound to create noise which is then equalized to represent the audio spectrum responses of pink noise as defined by the broadcast industry in the early-mid 20th Century. The audio is recorded from the Hollow Rock Forest with a 8 hours and then exported into an editing program. Thank for testing and listening, Ryan
