The city of Toronto recently spent millions of dollars creating new raccoon-proof trashcans. But they didn’t last long against the so-called “trash pandas”, which were filmed climbing into the containers just days later. So, how did they get in? Known for their flexible human-like fingers, advanced sense of touch, and problem-solving skills, raccoons are remarkably intelligent and also have great memories – ideal for life in urban environments.
