What Is An Account Executive
The definition of an account executive is Account Executive: direct representative between a company and its prospects and clients to close new deals. An account executive usually has some sales experience before moving into that role. They may have started out as a Jr. Account executive or a sales development representative (SDR). And account executive will primarily be spending their time preparing for new meetings, taking meetings, pitching and presentation, and negotiating with clients to eventually close deals.

What Are The Core Responsibilities of an Account Executive (Closing)
The most critical function of an account executive is to close deals. Whether you're in SaaS sales or consulting, you'll need to prepare for your sales meeting and do the proper research of each company you'll be discussing with. And in most B2B sales deals, you'll have to qualify the prospect then do a presentation before asking for the business.
