PLEASE SHARE THIS VIDEO MAYBE SOMETHING WILL GET DONE. MAYBE SOME REP WILL SEE THIS. MAYBE WE CAN GET 1MILLION PEOPLE TO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS ANYMORE! This video is in reference to my 2019 GMC sierra 1500 AT4 Black. Whole story (a long and horrible one)
I ordered this vehicle from Marty's GMC Kingston, MA. 2/2019 Delivered in the rain. (a mistake I will never make again), I drove it from there to a xpel, paint protection installer. I was then notified that day of imperfections in the paint, a few of them. The most critical being a large (booger), clear bubble in the paint on drivers side rear door. To make a long story short. There were 10,000$+ in paint defects. Had a body shop write an estimate. GMC reps fought me tooth and nail. They wanted to re paint it. I was all set with a paintjob. All I wanted was a different truck. Just pay for my ppf that was just installed. Hired a lawyer, the lawyer filed paperwork. For what I paid, the lawyer, if moving forward, was supposed to either take the case or have one of his co-workers handle it. Well the co-worker he set to handle it to knew absolutely nothing about cars or paint. I tried to fight it. He dropped the case, didn't have any other lawyers that wanted it, and left me with no representation, and with the couple grand, I spent on that. I decided I would keep the truck. Whatever, I got screwed, it cost me a lot of money. But I gained much experience, so to say. never returned to Marty's gmc.
Nov 2021: I had been experiencing a pulsation in the brakes. Took the truck into what was Prime GMC hanover, MA. they looked it over. Asked me if I don't drive the truck. Asked me if I lived by the ocean. Asked me if I tow alot. All reasons to deny me service. I told them, "I drive the truck every day, and I don't live by the ocean. Look in the receiver. The truck has never towed anything.." They said well the inside of the front rotors are crusty. I said ok, let's get new brakes on there then. They informed me that the brake rotors were on backorder. he could cut them for me instead , and it should fix the problem. if it happens again , we will replace the rotors for you. Well as life happens, it happened again. Actually started in 2023, but I just got to bringing it in today 3/8/24 to what is now Ira, GMC hanover, MA. obviously the truck is out of bumper to bumper warranty now.
I have worked on many cars in the past, and had jobs coming up in my life where I worked on cars, tires, brakes, paint, detailing etc.. So there's that tid bit. All of this isn't coming from someone that wasn't in the field because I certainly was.
I discussed with the service rep the issue. How I was in here in 2021, they didn't have brake rotors available. They cut my rotors, and here I am 6kmiles later. Asked me all the same (get out of this questions, the ocean, i dont drive it enough, excessive towing. Nope, no sir none of that applies. This is the exact same brake issue, except this time, they will do absolutely nothing for me. Will not honor what the last dealership said to me in 2021. I have a truck with 10 grand in paint defects and brakes that seem to rust out (only on the inside) every 2-3 years, or around 5-7k miles. I need front and rear rotors and pads at 12k miles. The prices they gave me on parts were almost triple what I could buy them online from another GMC dealer for. And if I opted to have them do all the work, it would have cost more than what the entire big brake kit cost from new from the factory. I just dont understand why this is ok. Why we do not hold these companies responsible. I have asked every single service rep and the customer claim how it is, that I have a 2019 audi a6, with approx same miles and sits beside the GMC in the drive way and has zero issues with the brakes to date. Better quality brake they say. I've needed brakes twice up front now. This is a quality issue. They are using junk metal, looking for any excuse to blame the consumer. Then, the last resort saying that they are a wearable item and not covered under any warranty at any time. Well then, why did the dealer cut my rotors for free then. I am disappointed in this truck, GMC as a whole. The time and processes I have been forced to go through. All to result in costs for me. And I just now want to warn people. I was a loyal General Motors truck person. I had an order with GMC of Braintree MA for a brand new 2024 AT4 due anyday. I'm backing out of the deal. I am allset with a company that won't stand behind their product. Especially a customer that purchased the 3k$ upgraded performance brake kit and it was junk at 5k miles, and no one at GMC seems to care. No car should have 10k$ In paint defects brand new. I dont care what any of them say. No new car should need new brakes every 5-7k miles. And for what I paid extra for these, I should be taken care of. Buyer BEWARE!!!!!
