I’m Dr. Adrian Cable, VP R&D at Lifesize. Today and for the next five weeks, I’m going to be sharing my experiences with “advanced collaboration." What is that? It's going beyond video/voice -- whiteboard, content, improving productivity wherever you choose to collaborate.

So, here’s what you can expect over the next five weeks. We’ll have a couple of sessions on hybrid work. What’s hybrid work? Well, it’s not just a mix of WFH and WFO, because that’s what we used to do. WFH was always regarded as second-rate to be avoided. Hybrid work is a new way of organizing your workspace, your desk, your mind, your processes so you can be equally productive from anywhere, so you can WFH today, WFO later in the year, and decide on a day-by-day basis what works best.

We’ll be talking about how to organize and run video brainstorms. Yes, “organizing a brainstorm” is about as awkward as it sounds, so I’ll be sharing some real stories -- some funny, some sad, and all hopefully insightful on what works and what doesn’t.

We’ll be talking about how to juggle working from home with kids at home. Here’s a preview: make sure your boss has kids too, or they won’t understand quite what you’re going through.

And finally, we’ll be talking about interoperability. What’s that? Well, when moving between home and the office (or clients’ offices) you use a lot of different devices that do the same thing.
