During our test drive with the 2015 BMW M4 F83 in Yas Marina Blue, we noticed that we could clearly smell exhaust fumes coming from the car when at idle. So obviously, our first thought was to go have it emissions tested in Chattanooga, TN to ensure that it would be able to be registered for road use. Does this BMW M4 have an exhaust? About this video: Our new BMW M4 in Yas Marina Blue is by far one of our favorite cars in the fleet right now - mainly due to its balanced driving profiles and exhaust note. One of the things we love most about the car is the exhaust, which was a surprise to us. We had noticed that most people complain about the negatives of the F82 BMW M4 exhaust, and while ours is a convertible and enhances the sound, we just weren’t convinced that the exhaust on our BMW M4 was stock.

However, neither of us are experts, so we’re curious what you think. Do you think our BMW M4 in Yas Marina Blue has an aftermarket exhaust, or are we loving the stock exhaust so much that we refuse to believe it’s stock?

I think both of us are having a difficult time understanding why the BMW M4 exhaust has so many critics when (to us) it sounds amazing - albeit a bit like a Civic. 😅

During this video, you’ll watch us drive the Yas Marina Blue BMW M4 F83 to the local emissions testing center in Chattanooga, TN to make sure that we can get the car legally registered in our county. Chattanooga, TN is one of the only cities in Tennessee with emissions testing (being in Hamilton County). This was a shock to us when we first moved here, as when we previously lived in TN, we didn’t have to deal with emissions testing. However, because Hamilton County Emissions Testing doesn’t go away until January 2022, we had to have all of our cars tested for emissions.

Luckily, all of them, including this 2015 BMW M4 passed emissions with flying colors, which is great because that means we won’t have any issues registering our BMW M4 in Chattanooga, TN.

So all in alll, we’re quite happy with the results of our emissions test on the 2015 BMW M4 F83 in Yas Marina Blue. But we’re still curious. Does our BMW M4 have an aftermarket exhaust?
