The idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 68th psalm
Lyrics:

Let God arise to conquest in the power of His might!
Like smoke driven before the wind, let all His foes be put to flight,
And in His presence melt like wax before the fire of His ire.
Let aggressors and their armies scatter before our God,
And with gladness righteous throngs His name shall laud,

Chorus:
For God is a Father to the fatherless,
Defender of all those who are helpless,
Liberator of the captives bound in chains,
Who family for the solitary, too, ordains.
The weary land He blesses with abundant rain,
So that the poor and weary an inheritance may gain,
Maidens shall gather the loot in the wake of His conquest,
And shall like doves with gilded plumage in His eternal kingdom rest!

When God marched out to save His people, heav’n and earth trembled and shook;
In their haste to clear his pathway, mountains their ancient roots forsook;
Kings of armies fled before Him like snowflakes in the teeth of a gale,
While legions of angelic chariots behind Him in their ranks did trail.
And when to heav’n our Lord victorious did ascend,
All men he had delivered and of bondage made an end!
Blessed be our Lord on high, Who doth His blessings freely send!

Yay, even for the rebellious, He a ransom freely gave,
That all life should be His property, and death itself should be His slave!
But those who make themselves His foes by continuing in sin,
Or raising themselves up to oppress His child-a-ren,
Invite destruction on themselves when He shall come again.
For He shall lift up the downtrodden; upon oppressors they shall tread!
When He rescues His child-a-ren, their dogs shall lap up tyrants’ blood!

His procession is most glorious—fitting for our God and King,
Before Him in the vanguard a heavenly choir doth sing,
And damsels following in His train their instruments of music bring!
He rides upon the heaven’s height, as upon chariot wheels,
From whence His mighty voice of old like eternal thunder peals,
And He shrouds His terrifying strength in clouds, while all the earth before Him kneels!

Assemble ye before the Lord; pay homage to His holy name,
All ye kings of Israel, and of ev’ry land and clime,
Ascribe ye strength and excellence unto Him ever in song,
Who giveth strength unto His people and redeems them from all wrong!

Repeat Chorus.
