I had recently found out that Daft Punk will be releasing down the line a 'Drumless Edition' of their Grammy Award-winning record, 'Random Access Memories', and that it's the whole tracklist without any drums or percussions. I find the concept rather original and I'm looking forward to hearing this drumless album in all its glory. I decided as inspiration to do the same with one of my tracks, funny enough, I tend to start with instruments first such as pianos, guitars, synthesizers, bass rather than the drums but it can be different for everyone when making music. For this drumless edit, I basically took out the 909 drum kit that I used for 'Archipelago' and let the other instruments breathe more and give it a more smoothness to listen to, it still has an up-tempo feel to the track even though the drums are gone but it is still listenable, of course, it is up to what the listener prefers and if you prefer the original version, that's perfectly fine. For me, it's also a way of experimenting with different techniques and ideas when I'm working on music and to enjoy it as it is.
