The Coronavirus has caused massive disruption in the automotive industry. Plants were closed, production ceased and the parts supply crucial to a smooth-running assembly line compromised. 2020 could have been—indeed, should have been—a disaster.
And yet, despite all the interruptions, the damage to the economy and the quarantining rules that have changed all our lives, vehicle sales rebounded. Innovation, determination and just plain stubbornness saw the industry reinvent itself to cope with COVID-19.
