We ride the 2022 Harley-Davidson Road Glide ST and Street Glide ST! H-D has come out swinging with two "ST" additions to its touring family that take a page from the west coast performance bagger scene.

The main mechanical update for the Road and Street Glide ST is putting more power to the ground. To do that, The Motor Company has called on its massive 117ci Milwaukee-Eight V-twin engine, which pumps out a claimed 127 ft-lbs of torque. Formerly exclusive to the luxury CVO line, the 117 M8 powerplant is equipped with a performance cam, Heavy Breather Screamin' Eagle intake, and a model-specific tuned exhaust.

Rounding out other functional changes is a new set of shocks that add 0.8 inches of travel, compared to standard and Special RG or SG models, increasing total suspension travel to 3 inches. Not only do these longer shocks improve the ride quality and help absorb major hits more effectively, but they raise the rear ride height, enabling the ST models to handle with a bit more eagerness than other models. In addition, the ST models utilize standard-sized bags that help improve ground clearance visually and functionally.

With the ST models aiming for a performance theme, a blacked-out look is front and center. Precious few chrome bits remain, but the ST touring machines are going for a lean-and-mean bagger look.

We send Senior Editor Nic de Sena to Inde Motorsports Ranch in Willcox, Arizona, to see what the 2022 Harley-Davidson Road Glide ST and Street Glide ST are all about.
