Hello and welcome! In this woodworking video I will be taking a seasoned Linden / Lime branch and making a simple Christmas tree ornament using the woodturning lathe.

Mounted between centres on a drive spur I rounded the branch with a spindle roughing gouge and formed a tenon with the parting tool. Once securely mounted to the tenon the rest of the tree was shaped with a 1" skew chisel and the trunk of the tree I used my 3/8ths bowl gouge.

Sanded and sealed with shellac. The tenon will be removed and the base cleaned up on the belt sander however, I left it on here as I may return with a spray lacquer and really shine it up. Let me know if you would like to see that and i'll set up the camera :)
